Rationale

  • Violence against women crosses all socio-economic levels, age groups, races, religions and countries.
  • 1 in 4 European women is, or has been, victim of violence at the hands of their partner or husband.
  • Education aimed at a particular or specific population, namely women victims of violence, is scarce, and has not been used as a resource for empowering women victims of violence with desirable frequency and impact.
  • Although, there are many European NGOs working on violence against women that do use professional and educational training, there is a lack of common intervention, capable of uniting the outcomes of this work in order to have a common platform and to provide European usable outcomes.
